Jefferson Mental Health – Harbor House
Jefferson Mental Health Services (JMHS) is a private, not-for-profit mental health center that provides mental health services to Jefferson County residents of all ages.
Harbor House serves clients of East Jefferson County who are living and coping with severe and persistent mental illness. The program provides activity programs and mental health treatment services Monday through Friday for 5 hours epr day. The program is designed to provide a safety net for this population to prevent and manage relapse and avert hospitalizations.
Clients participate in art, music, gardening, and other therapeutic activities. They also assist in preparing their hot lunch meal and learn other household and daily activities.
UGN funds help JMHS provide supplies for the meals served, as well as for the other therapeutic activity supplies for music, art, and gardening.
