Learn information that could save your life or the life of someone you love on Tuesday, May 14 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Bay Club (120 Spinnaker Place, Port Ludlow).
The forum is hosted by the Port Ludlow Village Council Wellness Committee, and will feature an update of the protocols developed in 2009 when six Jefferson County organizations partnered and dedicated an entire week to form more efficient, clear and concise heart attack protocols. The three presenters will be David Tinker, Tim Manly and Judy King.
David Tinker, MD, FACC, from Kitsap Cardiology Consultants and Harrison Medical Center has been treating heart patients for nearly 30 years. He will discuss the dire importance of the phrase, “Time is Muscle-Muscle is Life,” and how precious every minute is when a heart attack occurs. Dr. Tinker will also speak about heart attack care, management and treatment-since all have changed dramatically over the years.
Tim Manly, Paramedic, from the Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue Department, will be discussing how lives are being saved by the updated heart attack protocols in Jefferson County. He will also be demonstrating the latest cardiac monitoring and transmission equipment to the control center. Tim is extremely knowledgeable since he helped to develop the protocols as a Medical Services Supervisor in 2009.
Judy King, RN, Cardiac Coordinator, from Jefferson Healthcare has been a clinical coordinator for rehabilitated patients since 1986. She will discussing the services designed to help cardiac patients recover; prevent future occurrences and return to lead productive lives.
