Jefferson AIDS Service
Jefferson AIDS Services’ (JAS) is the only organization in Jefferson County that provides financial help to our neighbors living with HIV/AIDS.
All JAS clients are disabled with HIV/AIDS, unable to work, and live below the poverty level. This puts them at extreme risk of homelessness or hunger.
Assistance is provided via the “Client Emergency Living Expenses Program,” which allows clients to access funds for food, housing, utilities, etc. The program is a lifeline to clients, which prevents homelessness and hunger.
Each client is provided with a “Client Advocate” who relays all needs, concerns, and comments to the JAS board for consideration and discussion. JAS is 100% volunteer run, and has no paid staff or office.
