NW Kiwanis Camp

NW Kiwanis Camp

Northwest Kiwanis Camp opened its doors (and tent flaps) to children and adults with special needs in 1989. Located in Chimacum, the main lodge overlooks Beausite Lake and is surrounded by 50 acres of forest and meadowland.

Special needs refers to children and adults who are developmentally disabled. They have one or a combination of mental and physical handicaps that prevent them from functioning in schools or work force at full capacity, in step with other students/employees. Some common disabilities that fit this profile are: Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome but other diseases and handicaps are often included in the meaning of this term.

The camp strives to provide a fun, safe, no-pressure environment where the campers will have the opportunity to participate in recreational, therapeutic and educational activities in a setting otherwise not available to them.

UGN provides financial assistance to qualified attendees from Jefferson County.
