Siobhan Canty, CEO, The Jefferson Community Foundation.

We are excited to announce the new Executive Director of the Jefferson Community Foundation (JCF).   Please join us in welcoming Siobhan Canty to the UGN Community.  Siobhan is an experienced nonprofit leader with a career that has focused on philanthropy and volunteering. She brings deep knowledge of community building, collaboration, innovation and leadership.  Siobhan started her new position at JCF on April 10th.

Her former positions include  National Director of Strategic Initiatives at the John S. & James L. Knight Foundation; U.S. Change Leader at Ashoka Innovators for the Public; Executive Director of Greater DC Cares; and Program Director at the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region.

She is an outstanding leader who has earned a National Innovation Award from the Points of Light Institute and was recruited by the Office of President Barack Obama as a potential Presidential Appointee to the Social Innovation Fund of the White House.

United Good Neighbors  is thrilled to have Siobhan join us.  We know her impressive background, skills and enthusiasm will translate into increased engagement, partnership and positive change in our communities.  This is especially exciting considering our recent merger with The Jefferson Community Foundation.

Siobhan’s first opportunity to connect with the UGN Community happened on Wednesday, April 12th at the Fireside Chat and Story Sharing event.   The Fireside Chat celebrated the amazing contributions of our donors and the inspiring work of our Partner Organization’s in the Community!  More than 70 people gathered to celebrate and to welcome Siobhan to our community!
